The Conference will address the following general topics:
– Impact of traffic noise on people, wildlife and other elements of the environment
– Legal aspects of noise protection, including noise permissible levels
– Research, measurements and prognosis of traffic noise
– Practical issues related to noise control
– Methods and technologies to reduce emission: road pavements, railway/tramway tracks, vehicles (engine, aerodynamics ect.) and speed management
– Solutions and measures to mitigate noise pollution – best practices in land use planning, route setting, infrastructure design, noise protection facilities along roads and railways and noise abatement measures in propagation areas
– Experience from preparation and implementation of noise maps and noise control plans
– Impact of noise protection facilities on the landscape and other elements of the environment
Each session will be followed by discussions and presentations of Conference Partners.
